My window sticker indicates a "Customer Preferred Package 2UJ" at a cost of $2645.00.

I've got all the stuff you mentioned as being the "H" package.

Maybe the "J" is actually the upgraded package.

I think its just an SLT but has some options grouped as a package like the light group, premium cloth and etc... I think you get a price break on it. I think the lone star package was like $400 but gave you a lot more than that in options. I looked at all this in 04 when I got my last truck but just got the lesser optioned slt since it was a sport.

OK.......this may explain it.

Seems like the packages changed pretty often during the model year.

redpoint, if you pm me an email address I can send you the actual complete Summary for both the SLT and Laramie models that I saved direct from the Dodge site in 2004. They are in Msft Word (.doc) and I don't have time to try figure out how to upload them here. Anybody?

The "H" pkg cost was $4625 and here's the options that came on my "old" '04.

H Package
- Air Conditioning with Dual-Zone Temperature Controls
- Audio Controls - Steering Wheel-Mounted
- Laramie Badge
- Bezel - Instrument Panel, Satin Silver
- Console - Overhead with Trip Computer and Universal Garage Door Opener
- Fog Lamps
- Bright Grille
- Ash Tray Lamp
- Front Dome Lamp with On/Off Switch
- Underhood Lamp
- Rearview Mirror with Auto-Dimming Feature
- Moulding - Bodyside, Chrome
- Power Adjustable Pedals
- Radio - AM/FM Stereo with Cassette/CD Player

Speakers - 7, Infinity(R), Premium Sound System
- Seat - Power Driver
- Vehicle Security System
- Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel
- Storage - Centre Seat Cushion, Front
- Sun Visors with Illuminated Vanity Mirrors
- LT265/70R17E OWL All-Season Tires
- Transfer Case - Electronic, Shift-on-the-Fly
- 17 x 8-inch Cast Aluminum Wheels
- Sliding Rear Window
- Seat - Leather-Faced with Perferred Suede(TM) 40/20/40 Bench

Again heated seats were an option in '04 ... I paid $345 for them. My '06 they came standard.

Was it the 2004.5 that they started adding the extra emissions stuff?

Also, is it my imagination, or have the used 2003s gone up in price from half a year ago?
I'm not sure if they had changed the interior material yet in 2004.5 but get the laramie. The "premium cloth" as they call it on my 2006 sucks. If I could redo anything I would've gotten leather interior. It is so much easier to clean and doesn't stain. If you have kids like I do , it will drive you crazy. Cherry coke does/will not come out of the "premium cloth" seats.

St

Like 1STTRUCK said, that's why I bought an ST. Vinyl floor, NO POWER anything (means no dealer visits for it when it goes bad), and 6spd with an actual lever for 4wd, just the way I think a truck should be. I know others like all the comforts of leather, plush carpet, sunroof, and power evrything, including pedals. That's just not for me, I have a Touareg for all that.
I was going to by used, but everything I saw had all the options I didn't want. Just try to find a base model ST on the lot, nearly impossible!! I got my brand new 06 ST for LESS than a lot of used trucks I looked at, and it was optioned the way I wanted, basically none
The wheels I got were of course steel with tiny little tires, but I knew that even the factory alu. ones with the optional tires wouldn't work for me. Went to the local tire mart and got EXACTLY what I wanted.
By the way, I wasn't even gonna get A/C, but it was factory on the 06's.
