Do you have a Wife and Kids?

Do you know the pain and suffering you would endure if you'r traveling with your wife and kids and you get a blowout and your wife finds out you took out spare to put stupid train horns? LOL

This winter, my front tire popped a road reflector out of it's place in the pavement. Then it stuck one of it's 3 inch support spikes right into the center of my drivers rear tire. BOOM, JUMP, slow down and pull to side ( in snow ). Metal cords sticking out of hole. There was no repairing that one, and I was dead in the water if I didn't have a spare.

Have a look at my pictures in my gallery, see what a tire seperation looks like at speed. This happened on a small rural road literally in the middleof no where. I was glad I had my spare...

If I knew ho to link to that picture i would lol

Yep, I'm in the same boat, and because I plan on pulling a 5th wheel some day the Rat Cage won't work for me. So, once I have an extra $1500 laying around I'll pet together a spare Toyo and Hoss wheel and mount them up to the tire gate.

Not only do I have a spare but I bought a bottle jack with taller lift and weight capacity. Its a shame DC thinks its safe to lift these big trucks with a tiny jack. IMO

Driving around with no spare because you're not expecting to ever get a flat is like driving around with no insurance because you're not expecting to get in an accident. Sooner or later............it's gonna happen.

I dont usually have a spare with me, but usually im within 30 miles of home and in that 30 miles, usually within 10 miles of someone that I know that will come to me with a tire, floor jack, and good tools.... If I go farther, I will take spare for truck and trailer, tools, compressor/tank..... thats my theory...
