South East, FL Dodge Dealers
I'm looking to order a 2004, 2500 and am looking for a dealer that will give me the least hassel in the SE FL area, Orlando-Miami. I've been into 3 now. One would not give me the time of day, #2 kicked me out when i said 100 over invoice, said the trucks were such hot sellers they could only knock 2000 off sticker, i asked why they have 35 of them and i left. #3 wanted to sell me a 2003 to bad, would not even talk 2004's with me. I've been laying low for the past week or so untill more info about the 2004 comes out.
Could anyone reccomend a dealer that will sell for invoice, plus a few bucks, with little or no hassle? Thanks

bish,
I ordered mine from the dealer in Jupiter. Greatest guys in the world to work with . . . until the deal was signed. During the time I waited for the truck, they lost their 5-Star rating. At least DC has the same opinion of them as I do. Last straw was when the "diesel mechanic" used 10W30 oil from the barrel in the back at the first oil change.
Bottom line is I wish I had given my business to the Stuart dealer. They have been great in supporting the truck. They ordered and installed the updated alternator bracket without even first looking at the truck. Sometimes, price is not everything.

I've found a handfull of dealers that will sell for straight invoice MINUS incentives - ie dealer cost less the 2500 cash back on 03's, or 0 - 2.9 % financing. Depends how far you're willing to travel. One guy in NC will sell trucks, even an 04 that you order, for invoice, minus incentives, and minus half the holdback!!

I'm up in MD and I've been to 3 different Dodge dealers myself. 1st dealer I didn't even talk about price since, at that time, I was trying to figure out whether I wanted Ford, Dodge or Chevy. The 2nd dealer just said "here's the price", which was below invoice and the 3rd I just stopped by at on my way home. He stated would start negotiations at his invoice if I order from him. I can't believe your having such a hard time down there. BTW, both the dealer I talked price on said that the price did not include incentives, which means if there is a rebate when/if I take delivery of a '04 Ram, I get the rebate also.

bish777... I bought my 03 from Maroone, and the whole experience sucked. They lied multiple times, and it got so bad that they offered me $200 if I would give them my Chrysler dealer survey instead of mailing it in. The salesman ended up working at a different dealer, but I never found out the exact reason. Anyway, my point was that I never did find a good dealer in that area. My advice is to go online and find a purchase svc that will pre-negotiate the deal exactly and just use the dealership as a delivery point.

Thanks guys for the responces... Those are the 3 dealers that i have been to. One in hobe sound/stuart told me to leave, Jupiter did not give me the time of day. And Maroone had 2500 added to the price, called market demand or somthing like that, so i did not even want to start dealing with them. Looks like next week i'll hit the phone and start calling around and see who wants to do business.

bish,
Market demand ? Give me a break! When I bought mine, the dealership in West Palm Beach tried the same thing and I walked out.
There is a guy by the name of Luke that is sometimes on this forum. He is a dealer who will get you a good price then have the truck shipped to a dealer close to you for delivery. Might be worth a try. Good luck!

Ah yes, the ol "Florida Market Area Adjustment" That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Basically they are saying because they are in Florida and they think they can get by with it they'll add as much as $3,000 to sticker : I'll sell for invoice minus rebates. What are ya lookin for? I got lots of 04's ordered.

Bish, you didn't show up at those dealers driving a Ferarri did you?
When I started looking for mine, I heard much of the same as you are, even heard about the new "hemi diesel". Anyways, I ended getting some email address's from one of the online services, and emailed the dealers with an option list and what I expected to pay. If they are willing to play, they will respond. This method is impersonal so far and also helps keep your emotions in check without having to put up with the BS (eg. market demand???). Let them come to you.
This is how I found my dealer/salesman, and they're still treating me right.
Go look what Boss Hogg said earlier - he offered some very valuable insight: the lowest rock bottom price isn't everything. I'd be willing to spend a little more up front with an accomodating dealer.
Good luck, and remember to have fun searching for your truck. Not all dealers will give you anxiety attacks.

I can probably get you invoice minus incentives on a 2004 in Sarasota. He also has several 03's that he would probably deal on.

Bish,
If you are looking for a deal ... stay out of the Florida Keys.
We have Duncan Ford/Dodge and they are pretty useless.
I won't even by a used beater down here.

Re:South East, FL Dodge Dealers
I did it with La Grange Dodge in TX. It was a little bit annoying. I did do everything by phone and fax but in the end it was worth it. They picked me up from the airport in Austin and within a few hours I was on my way home. You might want to call them and see if they have any 03s left or ordering an 04 if that is what you like It turned out they had one pretty much exactly meeting my specs. Check on Dodge's rebates then get a $500 farm bureau rebate and see what else you can do. Ask for Sydna.
