If they're Wet Okole seat covers, then they're made out of the same product that wet suits are made out of.

Not "holding out", folks, just asleep overnight!

I posted this info right before going to bed, and this is the first chance I've had to be online this morning.

As my signature states, the seat covers were made by Wet Okole. They're the second set I've had them make (the first ones were for my wife's Grand Caravan). They are 100% neoprene (like wetsuit material) and for our water-active family they are the only real alternative.

They are truly custom made for every vehicle. They have the patterns for essentially everything out there. Nevertheless, DC has so many seat options for our trucks that I took digital pictures and sent them when I ordered so there'd be no mistakes.

They also have dozens of colors, so you can get any sort of match or contrast you want. I could have had them do red seat/back inserts, too, but I was afraid water from bathing suits, wet dogs, etc. would show up too much. So I went with all black and used the red piping to tie it into the truck's Flame Red exterior. It looks extremely professional with just a touch of attitude - better than the pictures can represent.

The headrest covers were quite a chore. Three separate companies were involved. Wet Okole made the covers themselves. They have graphics available but refused to put them on the headrests (I posted here about their attitude). The company that makes the graphics won't sell direct to consumers, plus it takes a somewhat expensive tool to apply the graphics. And I have no dealers near my hometown. The graphics company finally found an installer on the other side of the state who was willing to work with me. Then I had to get the graphics company to create the graphic using the colors I wanted, ship them to the installer, ship my covers to the installer, and finally he shipped them back to me yesterday. I've had the seat covers for a month but only yesterday did I finally have everything.

I installed them, which took about three hours. The covers are a TIGHT fit over the existing upholstery, so they end up truly looking and feeling like factory stock. The front seats were pretty straightforward, but the rear seats have to be physically removed from the truck due to the way Dodge ties them to the cab's rear wall. It helped to have my wife's assistance getting the seats in and out of the truck because they're spring-loaded and want to bend and twist in weird ways when unbolted.

Cost was ~$650 for the covers, which included having Wet Okole install two zippered pockets on the back of the front seats (so the rear occupants have storage space). It usually takes about a month for them to sew them up and deliver them to you. The graphics would add another ~$150 to that.

Trust me - they look WAY better than the stock "slate grey". And the PoSD and DuraSucks owners get to stare at those beautiful CTD logos while wiping away tears. [grin]

You said "waterproof". Really? Cordura isn't naturally waterproof.

If water is a concern, I'd go with neoprene. If snagging, tearing, or other physical damage is a bigger threat, I'd go with cordura or another heavy fabric.

I don't mean to hijack the thread just tell me to shut up...
But, I have been wanting to get the cummins "C" emblem embroided in my leather stock head rests (just the front seats). Does ANYONE know if this is possible at all??? What would have to be done to be able to do it???

Looks nice but I am wondering if that material would be really hot in the sun? I don't mean for the sun to bake it which makes it hot to sit on like leather, but becoming hot on a long trip, especially wearing shorts.

Neoprene is a neat material, flexable, tough, watertight, and insulates. If I'm not mistaken it doesn't really get hot or cold, and is very durable. That is the best interior mod I have seen. Yours are prob. the nicest too.

Nope, like PanteraGSTK said, neoprene is a great material in many ways. It does not get hot nor cold and remains very comfortable to sit on, even on long trips with shorts (i.e. extended direct skin contact). We've had similar covers in my wife's Grand Caravan for three years now and they've been great through temperatures from subzero through 100+, direct sun, watersports, snowsports, our incredibly active 4YO son, our incredibly active 4YO retriever, and all their friends.

My wife's seatcovers don't look as nice as mine, though [grin].

I have had a set of wet okoles in my truck for about 150+k now. As stated above they are neoprene with a bit of nylon. They are 100% waterproof. They fit like a glove. Are fairly easy to install. They do not really get hot or cold. If it is really hot out you can sweat a bit on them. The waterproofness is good and bad. Good in the fact that they are and your stock seats stay very protected. Bad in the fact that if you happen to spill a drink the seat doesnt soak it up your pants do. I have not, but would recommend cleaning per their instructions. Just do it. If you wait to long and it gets too built up you have a real hard time getting them clean. Mine are no longer as clean as they could be, however I dont care. If you clean them per their instructions you can clean them on the truck if they get too soiled you pretty much have to take them out and do it. You are not supposed to put them in the washing machine.

I did just the front seats in my QC as the rear seat is pretty much their just for decoration and 99.9% of the time is folded up. The fronts for my 01 were like 250 though I did not have any logo added.

The wife liked them so much she wanted a set for her 4 runner and again fit and finish was perfect and hers still look brand new after 3 years. So good that we pulled them out and put them in her new one even though the seats were a bit different they still fit pretty good and look fine.

What he said. I was serious thinking about having Katskins do some leather seats up for me in the future but after seeing these I may give them a call. Thanks for showing us you pics.

It's a bit of money, yes. But:

1) The original seat cover material is awful. It shows everything, even a light drizzle. Completely unacceptable, and can't be left alone if you're going to use the truck for anything in the real world. My real world includes a wife and a 4YO son and a 70 pound Curly Coated Retriever (all of whom love the water and get into my vehicles dripping wet all the time), whitewater kayaks, a jetboat, etc.

2) $800 is nothing compared to what some people spend on under-the-hood mods, but these seats are visible to everyone every day - even the Ford or Chevy driver sitting next to me at the light or parking next to me in the lot. If you're proud of your Dodge CTD, these are way more effective than a mod no one can see.

So there you have it - function and attitude, all in one package that doesn't void any warranties at all!
