Mine was just held on by stock hose clamp type clamps, and I used the same screw driver to get those loose too. (note the punctuation fred )

Just removed my silencer ring. Took all of 5 mins and I did not even have to get mad at anything. Have not started or driven the truck yet to see if there is anything noticible.

johndeere1259-
Well, I was going to give you a line of B.S. of what a huge difference it made, but I see that you have already done yours and can't tell any difference.

Removal of the ring is Absolutely, Unequivocally, 110% B.S. in my thoughts. I can tell no difference what so ever, from normal driving all the way to driving like a 16 year old kid. The only extra "whine" I got was when I stuck the diesel nozzle in the tank and I "whined" about what that cost me.

If you replace the baffled torque tube with a pipe you'll notice the difference and that's no B.S. Happy New Years

Ok, I'm up for trying that. Someone posted a pic earlier in this thread of where to find the silencer ring and how to remove it.

I am not familiar with what your calling the "baffled torque tube", anyone have a pic of that and even a pic of what kind "pipe" was installed. Basically, a how to for dummies guide. Thanks.
