Of course, I just put on a set of '05 take off's with the BFG's. No problems so far, but I only have a few hundred miles on them. Is 50km's a lot for these tires?

Guess I'll keep an eye out now.

i did a measurement of the tread and compared it to the tread on the spare which has not been run yet and i found that less than 1.5mm had been worn off these tires.on a side note my father-in-laws ford 6.0l has the same tire but in 16" and his are doing the same thing.iam kinda wondering if these trucks are just too heavy for these tires.

I noticed small cracks just above where the rim is on all four of my brand new 2005 Ram with Michelin LTX AT's. The truck only had 25 miles on it when I purchased it last week, and the build date was April/05. So next week I may have the dealer take a look at it.

Doesn't look like anything major, but didn't expect to find the small cracks on a brand new trucks tires.

I have a set that went on in Feb. 3 of the four that have small cracks on the edge of the tread and around the white letters on the side walls. Took them back to NTB for warranty replacement and was told it was road damage thus no warranty. There were no other marks on the tires and no curb rubs that I am aware of. The tread on the tires seem to be wearing good at 17k but I am worried about the side walls.

I paid alot of money for these tires because they were tuff! Not sure if I will ever buy another set.

I have the same problem. It is mostly my front tires. One has a pretty bad crack in it. I almost put my spare on it is so bad. There is a warranty on them So I'm going to go and find out about it and see what I have to do. I only have about 4,000 miles on the tires.

Tire Cracks

My 99 Ram had Michilin LTX AT's. At about 45,000mi, 5 years old, all four got bad cracks on the side walls. The first tire dealer I went to told me that's normal UV damage and wanted to sell me new ones. I called Michilin customer service, they advised me to go to another dealer. My next trip had the same result so I called them again. They sent me back to the second dealer, he did a tread depth measurement and examined the tires, called Michilin while I waited. the end result was I paid 50% for two and 60% for the other two. They have a 6 year warranty plus mileage and Michilin will honor it. You may have to talk to them a little, threaten to change brands, etc, but they will come through. They told me that one of the biggest problems is using tire foam etc. they recommend to clean them with just soap and water

believe it or not but another good tire cleaner is brake fluid. unlike some products that draw the natural oils out of the rubber, brake fluid has rubber conditioner in it for the rubber brake hoses and etc. just make sure it doesnt get on the paint or wheels or your hands or clothing....
