Sorry to hear about the DW, has to be very disappointing. Hopefully you will find the root cause and it will go away.

Not sure a Ford will help much but if that's the way you go, so be it. I'd be pretty unhappy too.

the rears are going bald faster because of the lack of weight pushing down on the tire. that's what happens when running a 12.5" wide tire on a 8 or 8.5" wheel.

rim width

Actually those stock steel chrome rims are 6.5 in width(thought they were 8 when i put 'em on).Got 2 buddies runnin' the same setup but with Mickey Thompson at's.My rears look brand new compared to theirs, and i got 5,000 more miles on mine. Are my tires just real good,or are mt's just really bad??????I'm sure both of these tires are private labeled, anybody know who really makes each of these brands?????????They had some pro comp rock crawlers up there today(black 17x9 for 390 installed and out the door).Told 'em i might take 'em after the main problem gets fixed and see if i cool down enough over this front end thing enough to keep it.Think the 9in is wide enough????????

6.5" wide huh? Thats weird... cuz I took my rim off to measure the backspacing, and I measures 6.5" and still had rim on the other side. So, im pretty sure the stock clads are 8" wide.

I seem to recall that GM won't honor warranty if non-stock tire sizes and ratings are used.

I normally do not reply to a thread that does not pertain to me (the DW) Cause I guess 2WD are exempt. But the comment about buying a 6.0 Powerstorke I would like to comment on, since I came from a 7.3 PS, and a dozen of my friends own 7.3 and one does own the 6.0, and another a CTD. While Ford puts together one heck of a truck (they have their faults) as all do, but the 6.0 seems to be in the shop ALOT. Mainly motor porblems (stalling, no power) I sold my 03 7.3 CC LB DRW thinking I did not need that much truck (wife did not feel comfortable with the DRW) I do alot of hauling, and I work out of my truck so I need one, so I sold it and bought a Chevy gasser Well, after 6 months I relized it was not near the truck I needed. So, when it came time to buy another truck, I felt a used CTD was the best option after either owning one of the Big Three, or a friend having one of the Big Three and seein how all of them have held up. All of our trucks have 100K+ and teh one friend with the CTD has had no problems (his is a 6 speed) All of the 7.3 had auto tranny problems (including mine at 38K) and Glow Plug relay, and Cam Position Sensor were the bulk of it. The 6.0 PS, like I said above, motor problems, and the one with a CTD, nothing yet. So, that is why I bought a CTD (6 speed) after blowing up an auto, was not ready for that again since I have read enough on the CTD auto having problems as well. Anyways, just thought I would share this morning with my experieice with the Big Three. Oh yeah, I have had my truck 6 months @ 12K miles and had small AC problem (truck has 105K on it now)
