boy, the gear vendors product for highway 2wd, would be soooo sweet. empty and pulling. On the other hand, having used the ETH and NV241HD together enough to have an opinion, I'm not so sure you would need more than 6 x 2 gears in 4wd. I've never felt the need anyway. unless you're racing the baja of course, and need 150 mph with the axles locked together LOL. or maybe sled pulling? but for 4 wheel crawling around, the 2.7 something ratio of the xfer case really compresses the distance between gears and you just don't need any more gears than 12. mho anyway, for what I do.

But I U.S gear looks very attractive I must say. hmmm. fuel tank modification? wouldn't want to give up any gallons there.
Hey Mexstan I remember the OD on a 1960 rambler. wow, what a memory you stirred up. Had three on the column and a straight six. A true DC generator -- I ran that thing for a week without a battery by always parking on a hill LOL. learned to drive on that thing. you just had to let up on the gas in 3rd nd the OD would kick in.

For what it's worth I took my rearview mirror off because the trailer tow mirrors work so well.... So if I had ordered the rear window defroster, it wouldn't be doing me much good with no rearview.

Yep, heck you got ripped for having to buy a rear window at all. I would just weld some sheet metal over the whole thing.

Greg, by the way , typing in caps means YOURE YELLING

If you didn't notice from my signature, I have ordered an 04 a week ago. The difference certainly isn't 4000. The price on the 04 and 03 are very similar. Figure in the depreciation, and the 03 is actually more expensive.

I'm glad I didnt settle for something less, I can't wait for my 04!!!!

Holy Smoke - - talk about digging up the dead. Lightman has had his truck now for almost 4 years. Look at the date above the post, Castro. We forgive ya, just a newbie. That is just a gentle welcome pinch.

I had an '03 - got t-boned and written off. I was looking for a used 03 but couldn't find one in the configuration I wanted, so I went witn an -05, catalyst and all... If I could have picked up a good used 03 I would have gone for it. 04 in my books wasn't an option.

I don't care about rear headrests as I sit in the driver's seat. Rear window defrosters are not as important as mirror defrosts - I have a cap on in the winter and use side mirrors almost exclusively (even when the cap is off).

My take is this - if you can find a well maintained 03 go for it, it will give you better miliage than the 04's. Depreciation is for accountants - you're paying less and getting a truck that is just as good.
