No. The heating elements are embedded in the factory seat cushions which stays with the seat cover. Add foam between the metal seat frame and the factory seat cushion.

just did it with some 15x17 sized foam out of the fabric section of Walmart. Makes a significant difference, took about 5 minutes per side.

Finally a fix! Have the Laramie with the slate/grey leather, best looking seats out there but also the most uncomfortable I have ever had. Put up with them for the last 6+ years and finally a fix! Truck has been in the collision shop for a frame swap since mid-July, but should have it back in a day or so. (thanks to a guy running a red light and hitting me just in front of the front axle at 50 mph) - this will be the first new mod!!!

Has anyone tried "memory foam" for this? I'm just wondering if it would be better or worse than regular foam.

I used the 2" memory foam for the center of the seats and also added 1" memory foam under the sides. I have attached a link which shows another procedure I found helpful.

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

Why go to all the bother of adding foam under the cover? Why not just throw a cushion on top of the seat, or find some foam of a suitable thickness and use that with a nice removable cover for washing?
