Seat Belt Warning chime(again)

I took my truck in to the dealer because my stereo stopped giving back my CDs, while I was there I asked the service writer if they could deactivate my seat belt warning. I tried to do it a while back according to the manual and the instruction I got from DTR, but failed. Anyway, when I come back to get my truck the service writer says "Yeah, we tried to do it like the manual says too, couldnt get it to work" (go figure) Cant they control that or reprogram it through the computer or something??? thanks

I did it according to the manual and it worked for me. You have to do it quickly. My 06 might be different from your 4.5. The seatbelt light is still on but no chime.

Not sure if this helps but I killed my chime by jumpering the terminals at the plug under the drivers seat on the seatbelt sensor wire. Now the truck thinks the belt is plugged in. On a '06 I can now set the parking break, leave it in reverse(for backup lights), and go hook up a trailer when its dark without the horn honking when I open the door.

No dash light either. All I did was push a medium size female spade terminal on the two pins to jump them.

I did this in my 07 not a problem. My buddy that bought an 6.7 07 a few weeks after me could not get it to stop chiming. He did not follow ALL the steps. I hopped in a disabled the chime first go. I would say, read all the instrucstions again and try it again.

I tried to no end in both my 04 HEMI and this 06 megacab. Many told me to read the directions, have someone else try ect. Nothing worked. It seems that some trucks just don't take to it for some reason. I used the jumper trick and to be honest it's the better fix anyway as it also cures the other dumb ideas that DC had (dash light still on, backup warning, ect).....
