I think torquefan has nailed it. I had an old Dodge and it was the park switch. In my relic it was a spring that failed, but I'm sure the new ones are electronic and you have to swap out the entire motor assembly.

Years ago, my bil had about a 76 Chevy. It was the fancy one with tilt, cruise, etc. Seemed rare back then. His wipers would wipe once about every 5 minutes or so. The dealer changed everything. Nobody ever figured it out. This went on day and night rain or shine for the 10 years or so he had the truck. He wore out alot of wiper blades.

Since the solution seems to be having to change the motor, wonder if flushing the park switch area out with contact cleaner would hurt anything (if its even possible).

Have you checked your connections for loose or shorted wires? That where I would start looking before taking it in.

Could be a relay going out. It has one for on -off and another for high - low in the fuse box under the hood. Worth a shot. Find another with same P/N and swap.

Me too. Was going to write up a complaint about this and never got around to it. Being that it's 75* outside a not a cloud in sight, I forget about these things.

Anyhow, is there anyone that has actually fixed this?

It could be the multifunction switch. It costs approx. $40. It is the entire blinker/windshield wiper control assembly on the steering column. That is what fixes the erratic blinker issue, and being the same control, could affect wipers. At least this is the case on 06's. Might be worth a shot.

Ok, I had the same thing. To fix look at the wiper motor and check the wiring connections some times corrosion will screw up the contacts.Check the ground wire. Mine ended up to be the wiper motor itself
