Scratched Tint - Felt padding for Window?

I have a new to me 2003 - truck in my sig, and the tint on the door windows is scratched pretty bad. I took it yesterday to have new tint installed, and the guy doing the work said there was a problem in 2003 where there is a bar that the window comes up against that does not have any felt on it, and hence the scratches. He says Dodge knew about the problem and would give you the felt to install, but I wanted to see if anyone knew for sure before I call the dealer, as my local dealer leaves a lot to be desired.

Was this a common issue? Is it worth jacking with the dealer or is there an easier "quick fix"? I have not took the door panel off yet to investigate - wanted to check here first.

Thanks!

Ive never seen any Dodge truck with stuff inside the door scratching the glass. In fact, the only time I've seen it is on wrecked or poorly repaired vehicles. I wonder if your glass was replaced and someone forced something out of place or bent something. I would remove the door panel and look. it's just a few screws. You might can fix it in a flash. Are you then looking into getting a new window? Are your windows factory tinted?

I do know for a fact, if you don't keep the inside of the windows clean it will scratch the Tint Film, when running the window up & down ...
