Rumble/Deep Noise When AC/Heater On

Couldn't find anything thru search so...

Everything was fine, then next time I fired up the truck and turned on the AC there was this deep sounding fan noise. It gets louder as your turn it up and decreases when you turn it down. Does it on recycle, defrost, everything. Same exact noise. It's like a deep hum and is really load when the dial is on max whether on AC/Heat/Defrost. What is this? Easy fix? Some bearing going out? Frigging annoying.

TIA

remove your ac blower motor. have seen them suck a napkin from the glove box and make all sorts of noise.

it may be the motor itself but we don't change many of them. see it more often than not is that something is stuck in the squirrel cage like above.

GM cars/trucks are the WORST. I would always pull something out of the squirrel cage on cadillacs and hand it to the customer and tell them to put some weight on their napkins/reciepts etc to keep it from happening. lol

Owe you a beer, was a 1"x1" piece of paper that tore off a receipt that was swirling around in there.

Sorry to bump this old thread up, but my HVAC motor is doing this exact thing.

Do I need to remove the whole dash to check this, or is there any easy way to get access to it?

The motor is on the bottom of the hvac case, and you can access the screws that hold it on from the passenger footwell area.

Awesome, thanks!

Mine was a manufacturing label from something in there...
