Right rear door lock not working
I have a 2003 quad cab and a couple of days ago the lock on the passenger side just quit working . I have to manually lock and unlock the door.
Anybody out there had this problem ? Where do I start my trouble shoot ?
Thanks for any help I can get.

had the same thing with my 03 but was drivers rear. Take the inside door panel off unplug the harness from speakers, window and door lock to get some slack in the wiring harness. Then where the rubber covered harness goes into the cab side there is a pug there remove the connector and unplug. Then push back the rubber sleeve and your broken wires are probably in there. Mine had 3 broken wires and one was a speaker wire, didn't even know the thing wasn't working, and some water as well. Solder the wires and shrink wrap them and gtg. Also on mine one of the wires that was broke was all so the door open wire and I could set my alarm but you could open the door without tripping the alarm took about an hour to fix start to finish

How long has your repair held? I'm thinking a solder joint in the flexing area is going to crack pretty quick. Maybe I'll get some good braided wire and replace it all from the plug on the body back to inside the door.

Mine has been repaired for about 2-3 months now hope it holds for awhile. The stock wire gets stiff and cracks, and not sure how the water gets in but it just causes the wire to oxidize and turns to green powder and breaks.

Hey, if I could find the harness for $30, I'll do that instead of soldering in 10 feet of new wire. My dealer here wants $120 for the darn thing.
And yeah, I think it's the cold. I have no water in mine, zero corrosion. 2 or 3 wires look like they've been cut with snips, the rest have cracked insulation in the same place.
You have a part number?

I just replace the broken wires with a better quality wire that I had around the house. Only thing I had to buy was a micro-spade terminal to fit the Plug at the B-pilliar. I then ran the replacement wire into the door and solder into place inside the door where the wire are not subject to bending. Running the wires back through the boot was the toughest part, but well worth it. My repair has lasted for over a year now. I had to do the other rear door six months ago also.
