Gen III Replacement batteries

What is the concensus on replacement batteries for the Gen IIIs? Both of mine are leaking acid at the posts and I am tired of cleaning and greasing the connections. I am considering Optima Red Tops. Any thoughts or viable alternatives?

Not to start a battery war as this has been discussed MANY times. For OUR trucks many quality batterys out there OTHER then Optimas. The Optima is a good battery if your going to run the Baja or a off shore race boat.(lots of HARD shock)Otherwise regular quality sealed batterys at a LOT less cost perform as good or better.

I certainly don't want to start a battery war either and that is definitely not my intention. I just felt since I was one of the early Gen III owners, that I was also most likely to be one of the first to experience a battery problem. I did a search but did not see much about battery replacement on the Gen IIIs.

I can get a good deal on the Optimas which makes them quite attractive. What I really like is the fact that they cannot leak, which is even better. What other brands would you recommend that are spiral wrapped or gel cells?

IMO, Optimas are the way to go. I've had them in trucks before and they have always been flawless, if you don't mind paying a few more $$ I'd go Optima.
