Removing "plastic chrome" from rims? 03 2500
How in the world do you remove that plastic chrome liner on these wheels?
The plastic chrome is way past being restored no matter how I try, I'm thinking just peel that plastic off and I'll repaint it rattle can black. Has anyone gone through this process?

My next door neighbor suggested I try "bronze" wool as opposed to steel wool which I knew would scratch the chrome and plastic. What a difference, the brake dust just came right off, he mentioned to keep a water hose handy and let water drip on the rim to keep the bronze wool from gumming up with brake dust there by limiting it's cleaning ability.
The wheels came out perfect....no scratches.....although the center caps were a pain in the butt because of all the nooks and crannies making it difficult to get into all those places.
