remember..gonna run outta clutch..it happened!!
I was sayin some time ago that when my truck was new, the clutch engaged right away in the pedal travel, but as time went on it crept its way to way up in the travel. Well, with 12,000 miles on it, if I accellerate hard at 60MPH in 6th gear in a very steep hill, the clutch will slip 3/400 RPM. Anybody ever heard of this happenning in a new truck??? I drove my 1996 175,000 miles on the original clutch. Gonna be interesting to see what dodge gonna say about this.

No sign whatsoever of a leak, and fluid level good. I cannot make it slip on level ground. It happened that first time on a long 10 to 12 percent grade and at about 60MPH and full throttle. When I encountered a second such hill I tried it again and it slipped again. Dealer gonna replace clutch and pressure plate plus have fly wheel turned. Hope this don't start happeninig every 12,000 miles.

Had the truck in and they changed clutch, pressure plate, bearing and machined the flywheel. Works great now. They told me it was a weak/defective pressure plate.
