Rear Sway Bar

I want to add a rear sway bar to the truck. I know that Hellwig, Roadmaster and several others make aftermarket ones. I like the way the factory 2nd Gen setup looks and I assume that the 3rd Gen setup will look the same, so I'm thinking I'll order factory. Does Dodge offer the rear sway bar as a kit, or will I have to order it piece by piece. Is there anyone else offering a sway bar kit that mounts and looks like a 2nd Gen.

Thanks

Here is a link to the hellwig.

click on instructions.

I do not think dodge makes one for the 3rd gen. Notice in the photo that the sway bar mounts behind the rear axle. I have been told that the second gen mount facing the front. I like mine. You can also find some photos in the RV section. try a search for rear sway bar.

Dodge does not offer a rear sway bar for our 2006 trucks. Over in the towing/hauling section of this board is an ongoing discussion regarding them and has some pics.

I would think that the only reason for a rear bar would be a big camper of similar heavy/tall load. I would be worried that the truck would like to lose the back end on wet or slippery surfaces otherwise. Sure-grip diff. will spin both rear wheels fairly easy on anything but a clean dry surface. There are a few spots near my house where I just KNOW that I better be ready to catch the rear end when the rain is falling. Any sway bar tends to make the end of the vehicle "loose" unless there is a lot of weight on the wheels on that end.

I have the sway bar and it helps loaded or no load. The truck handles better.

bottom line: Dodge was to cheap to add the bar.
