Rear sliding power window stopped working, now what?

So, about 2,000 miles before my warranty expired I took my truck to the dealer to have them look at a few things. One of them was an intermittent problem with the rear sliding power window. Sometimes it would work, sometime it wouldn't.

Of course, when they had the truck it worked.

Now the warranty is expired and the window won't open. I don't even hear the motor trying to work. I had the wife push the button while I nudged the window, still nothing.

I haven't removed the rear panel yet, but nothing that is openly visible looks broken.

Anyone have this happen and know what I should look for when investigating?

Duct Tape and a Trash Bag?
Sorry, that's all I have.

May be bypass the switch and see if it will work with direct battery power.

without putting a volt meter to it, you dont know if its electrical or mechanical. make sure its getting power. if it is, then a bad motor. If no power then its a power problem.

Mine is having the same issues and I had the same experience!!!

Seriously thinking of taking out the slider and putting in a solid rear window. When I get some time I'm going to investigate some more but for now its a non opening rear slider.

I finally tore into the rear panel. I have power all they way to the plug on the motor, so that isn't the issue.

Tried taking the motor apart and found that the brushes on the motor were not in their proper place. Tried to fix it, but never couldn't get them to stay in place while reassembling the motor.

Now I'm on the hunt for a replacement motor, but finding the part online seems to be impossible. Found an old posting for one on Ebay that sold for $25. I bet that was a steal.

Can anyone help me find a source online to purchase the motor from? I don't really need the cables, just the motor and the gear box which should be sold as one unit assembled.

Well, I got a replacement motor from a local Dodge dealer. It was $65 before tax.

I put it in, and it works, but now I think I may have a faulty switch in the dash too. Again, it seems to work sometimes, but not other times. Never has a problem closing, just opening. I'll have to tear into the dash to investigate further.
