RAQ 6 disc AM FM radio.
Gentlemen,
I'm in need of a favor.Would it be possible for someone who has the above mentioned radio to provide me with the phsyical dimensions of the faceplate and the radio's chasis WxDxT. I can get a really sweat deal on a brand new unit and genuine mopar conversion harness to adapt it to work in my 98.Also, What potenial problems might I incounter? I currently have the factory 6 speaker infinity system in it. Will I require a seperate amp to power the speakers or will the built in speaker amps work? Or are the dimensions listed in the owners manual? Does anyone know who the manufacturer is. Is the RAQ powered off a seperate amp, internal amp, or individual speaker amps?
Thanks

I'm not sure what the RAQ code means. Sorry.
but I can tell you that the later model head units for our trucks did not use the speaker-mounted amps. The HU for the Infinity system uses a separate amp that and the HU only has low-level outputs (no internal amp in the HU). The non-Infinity HU appears to have internal amplification.
As for dimensions, sorry, mine is the Infinity and is sitting installed in my truck without the dash apart.

wouldn't it be way easier to install a good Kenwood, pioneer or Clarion deck??? Those stock decks can get spendy and with the mods you need to do you can get one heck of a head unit.
As for the dimensions, I cant help there, my truck is in the parking lot and it is snowing

As far as an aftermarket unit goes,I like to do things that are different from everyone else. As for the price, the units are pretty cheap on ebay. All the stereo shops around here carry all the harness's to do the conversion. All I really need are the dimensions so I'll have an idea of much plastic and metal i'll have to trim and if their will be enough left for proper support.
Thanks

I would almost bet that it would fit right in the hole. What you are going to have dto do is customize the outer bezel to fit. Those decks have the half moon cutouts for the ***** on both sides which need to be covered to make the thing look nice.

Once the factory infinity radio is out,There's tons of room back there. It's open all the way to the firewall. The problem is the metal opening in the dash. It's surrounded by approx.half inch of metal. Trimming the bezal won't be a problem (cutout on a cnc) as long long as there's enough material on all sides.
