Price 2004.5 3500 Quad 4x4 SLT or Laramie Survey

Getting down to the wire, going to purchase in the next 2 weeks (after I get taxes done ;-) ) I need to know your best price on the trucks listed below. Also let me know if you have an exhaust brake in the price or not.

3500 Quad SLT 4x4 LWB DRW

SLT - I have $8000 in options, and $1984 in Dodge accessories.

Laramie - I have $4800 in options, and $1984 in Dodge accessories.

I need to know drive off the lot prices. Please post your option and accessories amounts for a valid comparison. Just need to make sure I'm in the ball park guys, I'll be happy if i'm within $200 of the majority.

I love this site!!

3500 Laramie Quad Cab 4x4 SRW
48RE Auto
Tow Mirrors, Anti Spin Diff, Air Bags, Tow Pkg, Sport Group, Heated Seats, Hood Shield, Protection Group

MSRP - 45265

Invoice - 40344
Dealer Discount - ($1000)
Chrysler Rebate - ($2500)
Farm Rebate - ($500)
Admin & DMV Moving Permit - $70

Out the door - $36414

Ordered from Eric Todd at Lithia Dodge in Eugene Oregon. Depending on where you are you can get similar deals from Butch at Dishman Dodge in Spokane WA and Tom Chaney at Fusz Dodge in St Louis. If you're in CA as I am Eric at Lithia is the only option out of the three.

Hope that helps. Good Luck.

ksadc, thanks for your input. I was hoping for more responses by now. You got a really good deal! I was thinking I would have to pay several thousand more so this gives me some hope. ;-) I wish more people would respond with at least a ball park figure so I can determine what my chances are of getting a deal like this. Time will tell but time is running out for me to put down the money. Kinda dissapointed in the people who have very recently ordered similiar vehicles according to their posts but won't help out others.

I ordered a Laramie QC SB , Auto, mirrors tow group, air bags, tow hooks, hood protection for 34, 500 with friends and family and 2,500 rebate, out the door. Only prolem when the truck came in dealer went up 1,000 on price and I told him what he could do with it. Lost 500 deposit . Thinking maybe I don't need a truck with a lift pump that can go out at any time, as well as a trans that is good for only 71,000 miles. You guys are great and I will miss you but I don't think I can put up with the lack of support from Dodge, or the dealers. Remember to beware of the good christian dodge dealers in Mississippi.

I did the same as you, asked everybody. How much did you pay? did you have a trade? what options did you get? ect.....The only advise I can give you . Find out the dealer invoice, and don't stray from that price. No matter what options you get, all the invoice prices are the same. What the dealer will tell you. " I got to make a little money on the truck". Remind him that he's getting a 3% hold back from DC , plus if he's sell alot of trucks he gets a larger bonus on top of that. (example: MSRP 42000 invoice 38000 the dealer will recieve 3% on the MSRP price (no matter what you pay) The dealer will get approx. $2000 from DC.
Not bad for ordering a truck.

Find out the invoice of you truck and take the paper work to other dealers and see if anyone will beat that price.
Good luck
Odie

Invoice

If you are buying a stock truck, ask to see the invoice, or if you are ordering make him give you the printout that the invoice (referred to as "FWP" or Factory Wholesale Price). Pay that amount, less any rebates. As has been stated before, dealer gets 3% of MSRP (excluding destination charges) no matter what, plus volume bonuses.

A real invoice will look like it was printed on an old dot matrix printer, and the following lines will be on it:

2 lines for various regional marketing charges, dealer pays then, they are not negoitable, and one of the main reasons the "invoice" prices calculated on kbb.com are incorrect.

After the destination charge, a line that begins with hbxxxxxx, where x are numbers that represent the holdback on that vehicle. HB126900 means the dealer got $1269.00 to put it on his lot.

A line that says MDH # xxxxxx where xxxxxx are numbers that represent the build time of the truck or print time of the invoice, not sure which.

A line that says EP xxxxx, where xxxxx are numbers that represent the price a DC employee may buy the vehicle for. Only way to get that is to work for DC.

Good luck, enjoy your new tuck!

Great advice from all and thanks. I am in SoCal for the next few days (San Diego). Are there any dealers around that have a high volume of trucks for me to view? I am still deciding one or two little things + the rear window tint with defrost now that I saw that post.

Thanks again to all who posted!

rkelso98:
There's a dealer in Carsbad near LegoLand, (I think) that had a decent selection when I was there last, about a year ago.

There's another around Balboa. Don't know anything about it.

There's another in San Diego called John Hine Dodge. They have good ratings on the DodgeRam.info page as does Jack Powell Dodge in Escondido.

That should be enough to keep you busy.

Stopped by Roncho's on Balboa and they were very nice, LOTS of trucks and no high pressure. Ali spent alot of time with me with full knowledge I was not buying on the west Coast. Great guy. Also went by Hines, they had a few trucks. On the way home I spotted a place at rt 8 and 125 called Charles Burger (I think) and they had a big collection as well. I hope to see them tomorrow and compare with Roncho's. Roncho's must have had 35-40 trucks on the lot. Too bad I live on the East Coast.

I hope you enjoy youre visit to San Diego, I live about 5 miles south of town. I think you will fid lots to see at Carl the Burgler store in La Mesa. I don't know what part of the east coast you are from but we have had plenty of guys on this site get good deals back there. If you have lots of free time this weekend (bored) send me a way to get in touch and maybe we can hook up and talk trucks--till later Russ russknh@***.net

Russ thanks for the invite, I am starting testing at Cornado today and it runs through the weekend. If things go well I will give you shout. If not I will not see daylight again until Monday :-(

BTW I would love an East Coast dealer to give me 3% below invoice but I haven't had any takers yet. I even tried to contact Tomeygun who had an offer out to some west coast guys for that amount but I don't think he got back to me yet. Of course I haven't got back to read my emails at home so I don't now for sure. Any East Coast dealers want to give a guy 3% below "true" invoice, I'm yours!
