$55 will get you a stainless 5" tip. Looks good just time consuming.

I have yet to see a 6.7L with a tip. Guess they can't hold up to the HEAT of a regen without losing the shine!!

Excellent idea.

I've been looking at exhaust tips but the tailpipe is already out far enough without adding another few inches.

Thanks for the idea, I'll spray mine with clear laquer afterward to try and prolong the shine.

SlowStang, which directions did you sand, or did you just go 90 degrees to each pass?

newer trucks have Stainless steel down pipes and Cats..the rest is aluminized...

I have a 5 in tip on my truck turned out in front of the rear wheel, the heat from regular exhaust is turning it gold.
