I have the mid-dash rattle and wondered if anyone else with this problem found a fix. I think that it may be a loose plastic duct. I usually encounter it at certain engine RPM. Never had it at first, but have it consistantly now. When I turn the fan on full it seems to minimize the rattle. I pulled the radio and tried to add padding around some of the ductwork, but didn't help. Probably will have to take more of the dash apart to find it :P.

Might also be originating on the underside of your truck. I had a problem with a vibrating heat shield on my '98. Never could fix it even though I crawled under the truck trying to do just that a number of times. Had it right up to trade-in time months ago.
The noises and vibrations are a pain to fix as the problem is not where you would swear that the noise is coming from. Case in point was my wife's Avenger. Had a nasty metallic rattle coming out of the dash. Thought surely must have a loose or broken dash attachment point. After months of failed attempts at eliminating the noise, I finally found out that the hood was not making good contact when closed and a little shemming took care of the problem.
Been trying to fix this dash rattle for a while now and will probably keep at it like Capt. Ahab chasing the whale (wife thinks I am obsessed with having a rattle free truck...probably am ).

I've got a slight buzzing sound from the left side of the dash when I hit about 70mph. It hasn't been as bad recently though. I guess one day I will pull the top trim off the dash and check it out.

I have a rattle from the dash (?) every once in awhile :-

my radio is usually loud enough to not here small rattles and other noises.

I use to have a rattle in dash when sitting at a stop light or at idle. But then I remembered that I had recently took the dash apart to install a new radio. All I did was just took the dash off and on again, and the rattle went away..
