Playing MP3 On REC Head Unit, Will Not Play

I not a computer expert so I might have did this wrong. I dragged and paste an MP3 files over to a CD and as far as I know if copied to the CD. Put it in the REC unit and nothing it cannot read the information. I thought the REC is capable of playing MP3 files and it says on the unit itself MP3. Did I copy it wrong? What is the trick? Please help a computer illiterate guy.

The CD needs to be in the Joliet format.

IIRC, I am using an earlier version of http://www.imgburn.com/ at home. I'll have to look when I get back.

Tony,
I'm sorry but I'm not very smart when it comes with computers so I don't know what Joliet format is. Do I need to download that into my computer?

You can copy a standard mp3 file to a disk and it will work fine. However I have never been able to use one of those drag and drop burners. I always use something like Nero or Roxio to burn my files. Try downloading one of them and burn the files that way. I have 6 mp3 disks in my truck right now and they all play fine. You might also try using itunes to burn the disk to see if it works.

Joliet is a format standard.

I have image burn, but have not used it for anything. I'll try it later today.

The software I use, is "Instant CD& DVD burner" from albumgalaxy.com There is a link, near the top of albumgalaxy for the download. It is pretty straight forward to use.
A couple of notes:
1) If you have multiple drives, select the drive first.
2) Select 'save path' to organize the CD into the original folder structure, otherwise, it puts all the files into the root directory.
3) Near the bottom, Click on "Joliet", "closdisc", "underrun protection", and "eject after write".
4) Click on "Add files"
4A) This is a drag and drop interface - click on the files you want, then drag them into the center file display.
4B) When done select "close"
4C) Operates just like "open files" in windows
4D) When the main screen display is full, you can keep adding files, until the used disc space just above the center display is full. It will organize the files/paths alphabetically.
