Plastic/dash protectant...
Used armor all pretty much all the time for years, now recently im hearing that armor all isnt all that great, so any reason behind it? Or what is a good product for keeping plastics looking new in the texas sun(besides parking indoors)
Just dont want the dash to crack, and try to protect the mirrors, door handles, etc from fading in the sun.....

If you like the "dull" finish as it came from the factory, Armor-All will make it shine and create glare from the sun. To keep the dull finish (no reflections from the sun), I believe I saw something from DC about using their product. I have no idea if there is anything else out there.

The best product I have found so far is Aerospace 303 Protectant. It works on just about anything non metal. Does not leave oily surface and lasts.

I agree, I have found Armour All to hydrate whatever it is that it is put on but when it dries from the heat or sun then it will dehydrate and start to crack. I like Total Look or Simoniz but those are in Canada and I dont know if you can get them in the U.S.A.

Tint the windshield with a UV reflective transparent film. Makes a big difference. I know of a few that are done that way, and one that is tinted in a very light tint. The owners love it. Helps with the interior heat levels and the A/C finally works like it should!

My truck sits in the hot North Texas sun all day long. I added an Ultimat Dashmat and it looks and fits great. Just another option to consider if you don't mind the look.
Additionally, I use a reflective sun visor everytime I stop the truck and a towel over the steering wheel to protect the leather. Tinted windows and cracking the windows also help keep it cooler.
