I would have to say I love my 6 spd long bed also.
As far as parking I have learned to ALWAYS back in or pull through when possible.
Even if things look good going in, some jackleg will park screwy across the way behind you and it is a 15 point adventure to back out of a parking space; Back in and you just pull out every time.

X2 on the backing in thing. I learned that 11 years ago with my 97 F350 crew 4x4 long bed. Longer than the Dodge Quad Cab and less turning radius because of the steering stops on the Dana 60 axle in the front . Only real problem for me was trying to get through a fast food drive through with that Ford, did it once and haven't ever tried it again, even with this truck.

I take mine everywhere I used to take my extended cab short bed. Fishing,hunting,camping,mall parking lots,drive throughs,wherever.
