Picked up my 600 today. Anyone else?

I ordered it on 12/13/03 and it arrived 1/28/04. I can't believe it is here. Earlier today I sold my 1998 and felt a little sick as I watched it drive down the street. I went to my dealer and my truck had arrived about 10 minutes before I got there. It's home now and I don't feel so bad about my 98 anymore. I only have 28 miles on it now so I can't tell you too much. The main thing I did notice is how quiet it is. Can't tell you any more right now as I have to go look at it some more.
Later.

Congratulations. Isn't there a saying, "They also serve who only stand and wait"? At least there are some who are not waiting any longer. Thanks for the report.

My 600 will be delivered to my house Saturday according to my dealer. He faxed over the dealer invoice today , so that was cool.

I'm still in shock that I have this truck. My wife had been bugging me to sell my 1998 and get one with leather and heated seats. I kind of had a thing going with my truck and was planning on keeping it forever. Well, in December my brother in law wrecked his truck so my wife told him to buy mine. Can you believe that? I protested for about 2 seconds and then started shopping. Everything went fast from there and here I am a happy man and it's all her fault. Doesn't get better than that. Today I get the BFG 315's from Sams. The next item I need is the rear wheel well liners. Anyone know where to get good pricing on Dodge accessories?

Hey Justdirt,

Can you do us folks in Calif. a favor? Please open your hood and write down the verbiage on your emissions sticker and post. Depending on the wording, you could solve some problems for us in trying to get trucks from an out of state dealership.

Thanks,
Neil

Justdirt,

Sure, I'll check it tonight.
Thanks.

Hey, did you get a really good deal on your truck? I travel to Orem every month (we have an office there and do business with Novell). If it turns out these are really 50 states legal, then I could order one from there.

Thanks,
Neil

Re: Picked up my 600 today. Anyone else?

I noticed a number of folks out west and a few in Canada are receiving their new 600's. East coast folks are penalized - their trucks are being shipped via boat (except for one guy in Carolina who's truck was shipped by rail). Mine was built on January 5th, shipped the 7th, and according to DC has been sitting on the boat in port "waiting on the next train" since January 13th. Meanwhile, the Union Pacific rail car it's supposed to be on is sitting empty in Laredo. You'd think that in the past two weeks the two could have married up with each other. I hope that doesn't mean they lost another load of diesels in the gulf again...

Quick question, if you don't mind. What's the 8th digit of your vin? Is it a 6?

Thanks.

OK, how about the truck?

The HO's have a C and the SO's had a 6. I was wondering if the 600 would get a different letter/number, but I guess not. Thanks for checking.

So, from what I've read, you've got to pop the hood to see if there's a 600 lurking.
