Paint can shaker

I live in Southern California where the freeways are made of cement. In my 3500 doing the speed limit (65) its like setting on top of paint can shaker. You almost have to wear a month piece to keep your teeth from stashing together.
Is anyone using the Primary Air beams and how is the ride?

Thanks,
Rock

Just had them balanced. It’s always been bouncy, but when I hit 69 or 70 MPH it's manageable. I'll try to let out some air and see if it helps.

Thanks

CA freeways are murder. I go out to Phoenix alot and thank God the road eventually turns to blacktop. You're right, there is a certain speed that is just right to cause this. I watch other trucks differentials and see them bouncing all over too so you know the passengers are feeling it. I keep my tires at 45 front and 40 rear and up all 4 by 10 psi if I'm going on a long trip.

Come and check out some of the highways here in "The Peoples Republic of Illinois". Very bad. Built like crap and the salt and snow plows only makes them worse. I cross the border into Wisconsin and the roads are very good.

Want some BAD roads, come to Missouri. Consistently rated some of the worst in the nation.

Pot holes that'll destroy wheels/tires and make you real close friends with your local alignment shop.

Let's not forget the side benefits of our rough riding trucks. My ole '92 4X4 CTD rode so rough you couldn't drink coffee on a smooth road. I told my wife that the rough ride helped strengthen the attachments to our internal organs and would make us live longer.

Other than lettin' a little air out of the tires, there's not much you can do as the truck sits. But if you want to make a huge difference, get rid of the stock tires. Then switch to Rancho 9000 shocks. Major improvement. I guess I would do the shocks first, then rubber.

There are a few sections on my way to work I have to run 10 over to keep from beating myself to death. My truck sets up a nice resonance. You might try moving some weight around or adding some weight.

Hey Bumpy, I was comparing Wisconsin roads to Illinois roads. No doubt Wisconsin has some bad roads, but IMHO, down here they are much worse. I drive in Kenosha and Racine county a lot so that's where I base this on. When I had my '99, driving the Tristate Tollway with my work trailer was brutal. The 04.5 is a lot smoother but the tollway still sucks. Take care
