oversize tires what are our options for a 17 inch rim

I know there are the obvious options out there The Toyos Bfg 315s and 305s
But are there some more obscure brands out there or something not as popular?

I am thinking hard about getting the 342s for my truck and want to drop down just a touch in tire size. what all is out there in say the 295 70 or 305 70 ballpark. Looking at all terrains maybe a modest mt but dont llike the humm so probably an at.

Also I am lookin at putting my stock rims back on so I dont want to wide.

I have Maxxis 285/70/17 [33x11.2] Buckshots cost $168 each. Run in mud real well, not real bad highway noise and seem to be wairing ok have 12000 mile on them and they still look new when clean

nitto makes the terra grappler in a 295 70 17 and a 305 70 17. ive been considering both sizes. they are both 33 inches tall, but the 305 is an e rated and the 295 is a d rated.

First off are you staying with factory rims?
If so, I found the 315's wore the middle of tire out way to fast and the ride was definately down graded!

I found the 285 BFG's wore and rode better on my 4x4. I swapped the same wheel and tire combo
285's to my 05 2wd and they ate the BFG's up big time!

I then purchased 285 GY Wrangler silent armors and love them! They are wearing great and are very even wearing! Plus the only D rated tire with a 50k mileage warranty!

I would really like to be a little taller than the 285 thus my options are limited to

Nitto 295 70or 305 70
Toyo mt 295 70
toyo at 285 75
Buckshot 305 70
Mtr 305 70

those appear to be my only optionsand most 33 12.5 are only like 32.5 tall and are wide like tha 305 65 bfg at
just trying to make sure I have found all of them I really want to get away from the 315s but not to far

Interco Truxus MT. 33/12.50/17. They are E rated. They are 33.2" tall. Very nicely priced. Very quiet tire, not just quiet for a mud tire. Less aggressive than many mud tires (more rubber on road, quieter), more aggressive than any AT. Terrific winter tire.

Also interco has a new AT tire out (VorTrac) that will fit stock rims in 35/12.50/17 rated E.

Not too many tires that are true 34".

it looks like these Vortracs are meant for a 17x8.5 rim though... not the 17x8 stock rims...

Did you mean to type "E" rated instead of D? I have the Goodyear Silent Armors and mine are E rated with 50 000 mile treadlife warranty. Which, I think I may cash in on. Pro rated of course.
