Out with the 05 in with the 07

Finally did it, the 05 had 69k on the clock and a bad steering gearbox which was going to cost $890 at the dealer to fix ($400 at the napa mechanic). I've been waiting and waiting but finally pulled the trigger on an 07 quad bighorn 3500 SRW.
Pretty much identical to my old truck but with a few more options.
Power pedals
Power rear slider
Sat radio
Tow mirrors

All the other stuff I had on my 05 except the 05 had clearance lights. The 05 also had the little sport mirrors which I could never figure out why they put those on a 3500.

The new truck seems a little more zippy right out of the box. It could be the stock size tires compared to the 315"s that I had, but I seem to remember it being a little doggy in stock form and that is why I bought the XZT. I also bought aftermarket leather seats, and will do the same for this new one as it changes the entire interior for $500.
I'll have to post some pics.

Anyway I have a few things from the 05 if anybody is interested shoot me a PM
XZT tow module
Have a like new set of stock alloy alum wheels with centers/lugs (going to have to be pickup on these) Minden NV
Will have the 07 interior if anybody wants an extra set, this is the spillproof stuff.

5.9

I found a guy that has a shell that fits a 03-08 shortbed, and is black. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the black color change at some point? My father has an 05 black, and my 07 seems to be mettalic. Might be able to paint it.

in'06 they went from a pretty normal factory black to a heavy flake black which looks different in the sun.

This black almost looks green in the sun. And from 3' back it looks charcol grey. I had the dealer order me a billet grill for it, and I'm putting in grey leather interior. I can't decide on a shell or bed cap for it, or I might even put one of those plastic bed cap that retracts toward the cab. Too many decisions.

Dan,

What are the leather seats? Make and Model? I would love to see what they look like for when my 2004.5 seats wear out or I just need a change.
$500 dollars for leather seats sounds like a great buy.

Do the 2007 5.9 trucks only have a CAT like the 2004.5 or is there additional emmissions added for them?

Thanks, Jeff
