An Opposite Question

Everybody is always talking about raising their trucks. I can see why - they look better raised, and perform better off road.

But, I'd like to lower mine a couple of inches. It's a winter driver, long diatnce cruiser, and trailer hauler. At the race track, I almost live out of the back of it. It would be more convenient if everything was easier to reach - I'm only 5'-8".

It looks like lowering the front would be easy - just trim off 1/2 a coil.

What about the rear? Any easy way to lower it without losing much capability? It would be a rare day to see the back loaded with any real weight.

You can remove the 2 shims/spacers under the leaf pack but thats only going to net you about a 1" drop.

I got almost 2 inches at the rear bumper moving the shims. Do a quick search and you should find a decent write-up or two. The only thing I would do different this time is have new bolts just to make it a bit easier. Simple job, and I don't tow enough weight to make it matter. Sorry but I don't know about lowering the front.

Thanx. An inch or so can sometimes make a big differance. I'll get to work on that soon.
