Open space behind cubby hole?

Anyone know if the space behind the cubby hole is clear ( to drill towards) and accessable to run wires/cable through. Installing a motorola radio in the cubby hole, but wanted to make sure it was clear of obstructions/wires before i make a slot for wires/cable. Tried to open the Autometer guagepod infosheet on their site, and that wasnt accessable apparently.

Thanks

iirc, it is open behind there, but to be sure, just remove the front bezel. one screw holds it in place [pass side where the little trashbag hook is] and a dozen or so clips hold it in. just give it a tug and it will come out, and then disconnect the 4 connectors back there and it comes out so you can work on it on a bench [one connector for the cig lighter, one for the airbag switch -it is there even if you don't have the key switch, and 2 on the hvac controls]

Thanks that was the info i was looking for! I got impatient waiting so i just started working it. Ended up routing the cable in behind the ashtry and drilled up into the cubby hole from below. The rubber matt for the cubby secures the radio face inplace. Thanks again.
