offset on stock wheels???
Can anyone tell me the offset of the oem steel wheels on a 2003 model slt 4x4? I want to get some aftermarket wheels and 285/70/17 tires when my original tires wear out. I would like the truck to have a little bit more wider stance than it does now. Thanks...

Check out my truck in the gallery. not sure about the 03 though prob comparable. My stock wheels were 17x8 with 6.5"bolt pattern, 8 lug with 6.5" backspacing. My new American Racing Atlas 660 chrome ones are the same except for the backspacing, 4.5". so each tire sticks further out by 2" on each side, for a total of 4" wider stance. I like it. Takes corners better/faster/more stable.

Jmac,
Nice truck. I have American Racing Diamondbacks on my truck and they have the similar backspacing to your Atlas wheels. I noticed you were running 315's, did they rub before you put on the leveling kit? Was the leveling kit difficult to install, any tips, details? Lastly with the leveling kit make you truck nose high with a load on the back? Sorry for all of the questions but I have a set of 315's on the way and I am a little nervous. I unexpectedly won an auciton on a set of H2 take-offs and I now have to figure out how to deal with them. Everyone else please feel free to add input from your experiences as well.
tsmay, the Diamondbacks are a zero offset wheel so they stick-out similar to how Jmac described. I would recommend fender flares when going wider like this. I will have pics soon.
Thanks,
Josh
