Odd... the bell went away

I just noticed that for some reason, if I leave the headlights on and turn off the truck, open the door, the warning chime to remind you to turn off the lights does not ring any more. I haven't tested it to see if they will still turn off automatically.

anybody else seen that?

I think they call that a safety feature of the truck. I thought you could set the delay before they turnoff. If you turn off the key first and then turn off the headlights they will stay on the set amount of time. It kind of bothers me sometimes if I turn the key off only a split second befor the headlights, then I have to turn the key back on to get the headlights to turn off right away. See your owners manual for the correct explaination

You don't have to turn the key on again to get the lights to go off. Just turn the lights on and then off again and then they go out. I don't remember if I read this somewhere or just tried it but it works.

I kow if I am fumbling around in the truck with the interior light and I forget if I left it on or its just doin its delayed off thing I can check that real quick by hitting the remote door lock, if it was just in delay off mode it will shut right off, if the light is on manually it wont, then its time to unlock and shut that puppy off, darn things are supposed to make life easier, not more complicated
