O2 sensors and catalytic destructor for OBD
I was looking around on the net about OBD II readers, which of course are mostly centered around gassers and their regulation of emissions. Nowadays, since the EPA is trying to reduce emissions for the diesels, there are a lot of interesting OBD stuff coming into action. With all of the EGR being put into trucks, the new CJ-4 oil, the pilot injections, etc, etc, for the diesels... I was wondering about the caty converter.
I had mine punched through, so by looking at the truck, it appears normal. That's fine with me. But does anyone know where Dodge is putting the sensors? What I read about the cars is that most of the newer ones put an Oxygen sensor before and after the caty converter to determine if there is any change in o2. If there's not, it will light the BIG light.
Anyone know how this is shaping up? So far, I haven't gotten the check engine light on my 04, but if I had a 2006 or 07, would that still be the case?

diesel's don't have any O2 sensors at all.....
If you have emissions testing in your area they put it on a dyno of some sort and load the rollers and away they go. while they rev it up there is a probe in the tail pipe that takes a reading. when we had it in our area it took a REALLY!!! smokey truck to fail.
BTW it's your safety inspector who is supposed to look for cat's.
