Not sure what's wrong....

Today, I was driving and I tried to down shift; all of a sudden I could not change to any of the gears so I pulled over. After a little playing w/ the clutch and changing gears I could start engaging each of the gears, but now the gears just don't feel right. If the engine is off and I put it into 1,3,5, or R which are all of the top gears it will disengage as soon as I let go of the gear shifter regardless of having the clutch pressed. If the engine is on and I'm driving it does not disengage as easily, not really a problem b/c it doesn't take long and I'm in 6th gear.

Just a few questions... Should this problem be covered under my warranty? What do you guys think is the problem? How safe is it to drive like this? thanks for the feed back. -victor

I would say as long as your under the mileage it should be covered by warranty. Safe is hard to say without driving it myself but I would get it to the dealer ASAP.

Sounds like the shift rod lockout ***** and springs are bad. Should be covered by the powertrain warranty.
