Question No positive to left stop lamp.

I am neew to the website and already have a question The wife just picked up our 2005 truck from the body shop after having the truck repaired from a major hail storm back in April. Anyway the first thing the wife tells me is the lamp out indicator is on. So I checked all the lamps and found the left rear stop lamps not working. I tried new lamps and the stop lamp would not work. I removed the right side fixture and installed the left side fixture to the right side connector and everything worked. I then installed the right side fixture on the left side connector and the stop lamp would not come on. From another post from this web site led me to the Dodge body builder page and I downloaded the wiring portion. What I found is the Darkgreen with white tracer wirer does not have positive volts. According to the print this wire goes through a connector to the Intergrated power module. I am not sure I want to remove this to check the connector or talk to the body shop who had to remove the left front fender for replacement. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I do have a TST so I am kind of concerned that Dodge might not do the repair under warranty.

Did you check the fuses under the hood?

Yes check the fuses. I think the rear brake lights are individually fused. The "Intergrated Power Module" is current day lingo for the fuse box.

There is a TSB out for this problem. Not sure what number it is. But supposeadly the wiring contacts are getting corroded and then the wires are breaking. I just had my truck in for both rear tail light assys to be re done.

I'm currently having this problem on my 04'. It is also the driver side rear brake lamp. Mine started out like a short normally would, I would hit a fairly hard bump in the road and the "lamp out" indicator light would come on then I would hit another bump and it would go off. It did this for about 2 weeks until it finally just came on and has stayed on ever since. By chance can anyone dig up the TSB# so that I don't have to hassel with DC when I take it in? I will also be have the rear U-Joints replaced since there shot at 40K miles.

It is an internal use only for the TSB. So trying to get it from the dealer is next to impossible.
