No low fuel light....

I remember when I first got my truck I was having a problem with some false dash lights coming on and slow response on the fuel gauge. I took it in to have a TSB done which took care of both of those issues. Now my low fuel light does not come on when my fuel gets low. It used to come on when the overhead DTE said 50 miles, I've gotten the DTE down to 20 with still no low fuel light... It does come on a then go off when I start the truck, so I know the bulb still works... Any ideas? Thanks!

The Low Fuel Lamp should come on when you have approximatly 20% fuel left in the tank.
You need to fill the tank once the ovehead gets to 0 (there should be approximatley 10% left in the tanks then)

20 miles left I have put 50 on and still had plenty to go. the overhead is not the most acurate thing in the world. About as affective as a stick in the tank!

I usually do hit the pumps before the tank gets to 1/4 tank, but on occasion I let it get lower than that, since the TSB I have not received a low fuel light, on one occasion I let it get REAL low (took 32 gallons to fill it up) and still did not get a light...

When I was trying to empty the tank as low as I could to do the vent mod, my light did not come on until it was almost on the last hash mark. That is as far as I ever went to reading E. When I dropped the tank, I had about 3 - 5 gallons still in there.

roadie00 - I have exactly the same thing with my '03. I had the TSB for the "CHECK GAGES" light flickering done, and my low fuel light has not worked the same since. It used to come on, and ding, at just over 1/8 showing on the fuel gage. Now it doesn't come on until I'm about a needle above 'E', which I only know because I was trying to see if the darn thing still worked at all I took over 33 gallons at that fillup, so I'm definetly filling at or before 1/8 now.

Maybe the TSB changed the parameters for the light... oh well, it's not a major thing
