Thumbs down No LB Mega!!!! May have to buy a Ford:(

Sat in a new Ford 4 Door LB truck today and all I can say is "Wow, nice!!!" I have to admit, that cab is big and the long bed is just what I need. If Dodge won't build one, then I'll just have to buy some one elses. I may have to live with the inferior engine, but at least I'll have the long bed and big cab I need. Just wish I could make those idiots over at Dodge understand: A MEGA CAB LONG BED WILL SELL!!!!!!
What do we have to do Beat it through thier thick skulls?

long bed MC is coming. i dont see the logic in betting an "inferior" engine just because the cab is 6" shorter people have gotten spoiled on the MC idea. everyone has be living just fine w/ the QC for 4 years

I think a MegaCab with an 8' bed would be TOOOO big. Wouldn't fit in the average garage. I had a Ford F350 Crew Cab and they are nice. I wouldn't gamble on a six-point-oh-no Ford engine tho.............. mine was a 7.3 and was a good rig.

Good luck!

LOL, my reg cab '97 wont fit in an average garage!

I cant imagine trying to park, or turn around on a 2, or even 3 lane road with a megacab long bed!

I think I would rather be a little cramped in a truck that will run anyday over sitting comfortably in a truck that won't get out of its own way......

You'd need 50 acres in west Texas to turn a MC LB around. If they do make that chassis, DC needs to incorporate 4 wheel steering. Come to think of it, I'd like to have 4 wheel steering on my QC SB!

Red face

I tell my friends turning my truck is like turning a Cruise Ship! It takes me 4 (!) lanes to make a turn around. Thats bad..

You REALLY REALLY don't want a 6.0. I don't know how to warn you any more strongly-ford doesn't make anything light enough to push with that engine. Please act accordingly-you're not superman, so you're not capable of pushing that nice new f350 everywhere you want to go. It's that bad. Really.

I think the initial poster's point is valid, though. Ford is selling lots of F-350 Tow Boss long bed crew cab duallies to the 5th wheel pullers - walk through just about any RV park and take a look. Now, Dodge can either choose to compete (not just with the MegaCab long bed, but with competitive GVWR [13K] and GCWR [26K] ratings as well) or abdicate that market.

As much as I like my truck, Dodge had better hope the 6.4L twin turbo turns out to be junk when replacement time comes around if they don't have a competitive product offering.

Hmmm heres a picture of my brothers 6.0, it weighs 8000lbs. It seems that it doesnt have enough power to push it either he only runs a 12.5@110, which is way to slow for that weight class... those things sure are weak

You know, there really isn't that much of a difference in weight ratings between the two when you take into account the unladen weight of each truck. My brother's '06 F-350 crew cab long bed 4x4 with Powerstroke weighs 800+ lbs more than my similarly equipped '06 3500 Megacab 4x4 Cummins. His GVWR is 11,500 lb, mine is 9,900 lb, a difference of 1600 lbs. But when you take vehicle weight into account that difference is only 800 lb.

What is the GVWR of the current MegaCab dually? 10,500 lbs??

What is the GVWR of the TowBoss Ford Crew Cab dually? 13,000 lbs.
