Hey all, just purchased a 2003, Laramie 1 ton, titled new w/3k miles. I gained a ton of info in making selection on a new truck from this forum. My question concerns oil on new truck and after breakin. What type now, and can I switch to a synthetic after breakin or is this necessary. Thanks again for all the info delivered here for us newbies..samiam

First things first.... welcome to the site. You will find a wealth of information here.

Synthetic oil is recommend after 20K miles. I would stick with regular rotella or something equivalent until then. After 20K you can safely switch to synthetic.
