New winch mount

hart has it right; the max cable tension could still be 8000, or what have you, but multiple cables get you more pulling force. tinbanger has a good point too. Your tree strap will see the cable tension times however many cables you have.
If it takes 8000 lbs for pulling force to get you out of the ditch then a single line will see 8000 lbs on tension. If you use a ****** block and run a line back to the truck then the cable will see 4000 lbs of tension, your tree strap will see 8000 lbs. If you looped the cable enough times, say 80, you could theoretically pull your truck out by hand, (100 lbs needed) but I don’t think it would be practical, lol

so, I think you mount looks very functional. You are more skilled than I am. One of the local guys did something similar. He built more of a enclosed box for the winch.

https://bodiaknet.powweb.com/store/c...c08d3555b2b6e0 This company makes a receiver type hitch that fits over the tow hooks. 8,000 pull, 500 pounds tongue wt. I don't know if it's the design of the hitch or the rating of the tow hooks that gives it's rating.
