Sometimes it amazes me that people don't pay closer attention to what they read! :

All CTD's come with a block heater as standard. There is no $10 dollar option for the cord. They all have the cord as well.

All CTD's come with a block heater as standard up until 2004 (which is what Papa Smurf is asking about),,,, However, information posted from several different sources are saying that the 2004 comes with the block heater, but no cord unless the truck was ordered with this $10 option (I think it is option code: NHK - Engine Block Heater)
.
It has also been reported that the cost of the cord is between $30-$40 at the parts counter if you have to buy it. It seems this is just another example of DC's cost cutting schemes like the past standard equipment becoming optional extras, (the rear wheel well liners on the 4x4s, the rear cup holders, the hood insulation, the passenger grab handle, etc.)

Try looking on the side of the block just behind the oil filter.
Think that is where I noticed it the other day when I changed oil.

Thanks Duelin
I went out and looked again, this time with clean glasses and a flashlight. ;D I found the heater part it has a black plastic cap on it but no power cord.

Dennis
They did put a grab rail on the drivers side ??? ???, I still haven't figured out why they did that. Just something in the way when it comes time to mount gauges.
See Ya
