I kinda sort of looked for the block heater plug tonight and didn't see it. Any hints on where DC hid it??

Congrats on the new baby!

Now about the hitch and line-X, which will you have installed 1st? Also the answer to your heater plug will be determined by if you new '04 was ordered with the heater or not. It's a $10 option and most dealers don't seem to realize that you now have to order it because it was standard in '03. If you do have it, the plug is located in the upper part, still on the side, of the radiater on the passanger side.

Re:New member to the family

Thanks CrabJoe
I will have to check that in the AM. Thanks for the input.
I had Linex sprayed in my 01 first and then installed the B&W hitch, it worked pretty good a couple of years ago so I will do the same in my wife's truck.
See Ya

Re:New member to the family

Hello
Pete
I sent you a email.

I looked at the truck and then the sticker for the window and I could not find anything about a block heater.
I will be going in on Monday and requesting one.

We went up to Mi a couple of years ago for Christmas and the temps droped down in the -0 range I did not have much trouble starting my truck but MAN O MAN did it sound bad when she cranked up. It banged and clanged and sounded like it was going to have a come apart, then after a while it calmed down and started to sound normal. I like to plug the truck in when the temps get down in the teens/20s just to make it easier on everything.
See Ya
Chris

Re:New member to the family

All 04's come with a block heater, all you need is the cord. That's what the $10.00 option is.

Thanks C5Racer
I will take a very close look at the side of the block and see if I can find the heater unit. Do you have any pointers to make it easyer to find??

Re:New member to the family

Haven't looked for mine yet. We go South for 6 months to get away from the rain. Presently we are in Palm Springs for the next 5 weeks and then we head for Yuma. Got down to the low 60s last night, don't need the heater here. Heading North in April. 8)

Try looking on the side of the block just behind the oil filter.
Think that is where I noticed it the other day when I changed oil.

Re:New member to the family

Sometimes it amazes me what I read on here.

All CTD's come with a block heater as standard. There is no $10 dollar option for the cord. They all have the cord as well.

The cord is located on the passenger side, in front of the radiator support, tucked into a hole on the radiator support.

The radiator support is what the Radiator, condensor, intercooler and other heat exchangers are attached to.

The cord is difficult to find. but it is there.

Re:New member to the family

All of the 03s had the block heater as standard equipment on the CTD, including the cord. It is a $10.00 option for 04s with the CTD. It is a $90.00 option with the hemi. This would make sense when others have stated that the block heater is there on the 2004 CTD and that the $10.00 is just for the cord.

Re:New member to the family

I paid $10 for mine. Look for a male 110v plug with a cover over the prongs.

Re:New member to the family

My '03 HO came standard with the Heater and Cord. It took a few seconds to find, but I eventually found it. Like others already mentioned, it is on the passenger side next to the radiator. I still have yet to use it, but the temps haven't gone much below the high 20F's
