New to Cummins
Just bought a new 06 4x4 Mega cab after my 02 7.3 PSD was stolen a couple of weeks ago.
Quick question, on the Ford my "wait to start" light would come on for a short time no matter the outside temp. I have not had the new truck in any cold weather yet but the mornings have been 60-65 and I have yet to see the light on my truck come on yet. Is this normal for this temp?
Lots of great info on this sight, looks like I made the right choice CTD!

congratulations on coming over from the 'dark side'. You won't see the little yellow coil shaped light in the bottom center of the instrument cluster until you go to turn her over on a morning where its about 50 degrees or less. And even in the dead of winter iit wont come on if the engine is still a little warm.

Sorry about your thievery episode. Congrats on your truck. Your Cummins doesn't even have glow plugs, has a heater grid to warm intake air. Just got my first CTD this summer and looovvvvee it. You will too. There are a LOT of extremely knowledgable heads in here (I'm not one of them). Anything you want to know about your truck, ask, and someone will know.

Welcome to the site Alvin. I'm fairly new myself and this site is great, there is alot of help on here. Sorry to here about the 7.3 being stolen those were some good trucks for my step dad while I was growing up. But you made a very wise decision un like my step dad on his '06 truck purchace.....I tried to tell him and he didn't even take mine for a spin before he bought his junk 6.0 but what can you do . I do know what his next truck will be
P.S. Fill in your Signature for future refrence's so we knows what yous got!!
