Question Need to talk to Mizzu

Anyone know how to get in touch with Member Mizzu. My infamous blend door broke ( I know, hard for yall to believe) and I don't like idea of dash being taken out, my luck I'll get a rattle. I was just gonna leave it out and be on recirculation all time. He did it about 18 months ago and said he had no problems, everything works. If anybody knows how I could talk to him please pm me OR if anybody else has done this, let me know what you think. Thanks

The blend door does not control recirc vs outside air. The blend door controls the air temperature from hot to cold. If it's your recirc door that's broke, here's a good thread on the subject. My recirc door broke last month, so I dropped the fan motor, pulled out the door, drilled holes in it and reinstalled it in the "outside air all the time" position using zip ties to secure it to the grate that covers the recirc opening. I have no functioning recirculation, but I hardly ever used it anyway. Dealer wanted $450.00 to fix my broken recirc door.

Good luck!

Ssandlin, thanks, if I just left it out, wouldn't it be on recirc all the time?

Just go buy the new and improved part and we'll add it to the list of things to do.

Thanks Hounddog, I'll check it out. How many mpg do you get with the 03? If I had got on here for a while and learned about the 3rd inj event and less mpg with 04.5 and up HPCR, I probably would have got an 03 or an 04. Do you know if there is any difference at all in 03 and 04? Main thing is it's a Cummins, and my 1st one and I love it. Knock on wood so far has been great truck. You ought to see the POS blend door. Not good enough to have put on a Yugo.

I checked it out. Looks like a good solution for somebody like me that thinks once a dash is pulled, it is never the same. My luck it would have a rattle. Cost a couple hundred vs 35 from the update fix from Dodge, but may be worth it to keep from pulling dash. I'm gonna put the blower motor back on without it and see if my air will still get cold enough this summer.

If you run without the recirc door, you will be pulling air from both outside and inside the cab when the fan is on.

15/16 most of the time.Once in a while 17 but rare.Running 70 mph its 15 or so.55 mph its near 17.towing 8k to 10k at 70 and under its low 11 high 12.The times I've checked my overhead by hand its been as close as .3 off and as far as .5 off. really wish I didn't have a overhead.Other trucks I never cared about mpg.Just drove and put fuel in when needed. My 1998 1500 in my sig and my 03 dually get darn near the same mpg.I haven't checked the 1500 mpg in ages. Its fixing to pop 100k and so far other then not so great fuel mpg it has been trouble free.Still on orignal brakes. The mods I did on the 1500 got it maybe 1.5 tops better mpg.More around a solid 1 mpg better.

I read some threads and feel like its low.Like I mentioned I wish it didn't have a overhead to look at.I hit the highway and pop the cruise to 70 mph, usually no faster or slower. Its gotten that mileage for what seems like forever with no change.I really didn't notice a differance from old fuel to the new fuel.Maybe its NOT broken in yet.Only got 30k on it.

I beat it is not broken in yet. My mileage just jumped all of the sudden after a long pull. I get an honest 18 mpg most of the time and sometimes 19 mpg. Pulling I get 10-13 mpg. With a headwind it get's 10!!!!

Hounddog, did you buy it new? You must only use it like me, as a second or pulling vehicle. Mine has about 30k on it, so spooler, maybe I'll get a jump too.
