Need info on skid plate.

Hello,
I have an o6 Quad 4X4, and want to get and install a factory transfer case skid plate. I've searched the threads here, and found out some info, but not enough. I know I'll need the plate, the crossmember and bolts. Is there a kit that comes with all this, and where can I order it. I called a mopar place but they only sold the skid plate. Thanks in advance,

Richard

Richard,

I bought all the parts for the transfer case and fuel tank skid plates from the dealer. I put the transfer case on myself (easy), but had the dealer do the fuel tank (charged for .5 hour). I have the PNs somewhere, but may take a long time to find them. It was around $110 for the xfer and not much more for the fuel. Well worth it to me.

Well, I guess that's gonna be the way to go then, that's kinda like going to the doctor though, you know it's gonna hurt.

Just went through this. Ordered skid plate and bolts. Plate came and I crawled under to put it on and it was pretty clear that there was something missing. Went back to dealer and talked to service guy and tech. They didn't seem to know much about it. Parts guys couldn't find picture. Went out in lot and looked under some trucks and saw the small cross member that goes behind the transmission cross member. Parts had a hard time finding it in the computer. Had to look under a lot of categories. Finally found it and ordered it. Sorry, don't have PN. If you order the skid plate you just get the skid plate. I think the cross piece is called mounting NVG 271. Should arrive in a few days and I'll post how it goes. Think I'll look at fuel tank plate as well. Transmission pan looks pretty vulnerable also. Don't know it there is a plate for that.

If it helps any, I can go out to the shed and see if the skid plate/cross member's have any numbers on them. I took it off of my '04.5 as soon as I got it home, been taking up room now for going on three years.

Talk about Ironic, I had gotten sidetracked on some other money-sucking hobbies since I asked the question and had kinda backburnered it, then just yesterday I got back on the skid-plate kick and decided to go order it as soon as the O/T check came in. Those numbers would be helpful if you can find them. thanks canoe and phloop.

Thanks for that link, I'm ordering the power wagon flares at the end of the month, and I wanted to order the skid plate at the same time. I love knowing what I want before I go in.
