Need help with my A.C. cant find the leak.

Actually its my dads 2006 that is leaking 134A. Cant find a leak, we have tried everything we can think of. Stop leak with red dye, some of that green flourescent dye and borrowed one of those leak detectors and found nothing. My only thought is it might be leaking out of the evaporator inside the cab. My 2001 truck also has a slow leak but stop leak seems to have fixed it. But it was the same type of situation we could never find a leak on it either. Please help.

Usually hard to find leaks are found at the service ports or the evaporator core.

Bet it's the ecaporator

They rot. Especially if you have leaves down there or are near the ocean

Very common on Gen 2's

Another area that can be impossible to detect a leak is the compressor. I went through this myself years back in a 2nd gen. I had a massive AC leak and had enough dye in the system for a tie dye party and couldn't find a drop. Let it sit for an hour with a full charge and gauges on it to check for leak down and nothing. Fire the truck and drive it and it would be empty in 10 minutes. It turned out to be a compressor shaft leak. It never once leaked a drop of dye. Replaced the compressor on the advice of a Chrysler tech and everything was fine again.
