SORRY to see and hear about the dumb _____!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Subaru driver)
On the bright side, pic #1 (the front view) kinda looks like this.
Well at least the hood being bent up on the right side makes it a little close!

I would have got a lawyer involved on that one.
Total should have been the only option on that much damage.
But in the situation you are in now, I'd be picking it up, and going straight to trade it/sell it.
No way will it ever be the same as UNDAMAGED!!!!!!
Lucky that no one got hurt or killed.

We will see how the truck is when I get it back. This is not the first time this shop has done work like this. The tech has replaced several frames before. As far as totaling the truck, the cost of repair has to exceed 80% of the value of the truck. $13,000 isnt 80%. Yes, the intercooler was damaged, but a stock one is going back on it.

Sorry for your Luck ! I had my 03 Wrecked and the Dealer stated that it exceeded 25% Damage and that alone took the truck down 6grand!!!! It does have to be 80% on newer vehicles. When I got mine back it drove just as good as it did before the accident. Just go over the truck very good after you get it back and drive it for a couple of days to make sure that you are 100% satisfied. Good Luck man!!!

What if you sell the truck via "private party", as opposed to trading it in? Is it illegal for you "forget" to tell your buyer that it had body damage? With new sheet metal, new paint, etc, I'm sure it'll look pretty sharp, and would be easy to sell (if you wanted to).

if you had a ranchhandbumper i think it would have been a bit less damage but hard to say I have been wanting to get one for that reason but cant justify the price rite now -good luck

And they don't care even if the aftermarket one cost a little more you could make up the diff. I did that with a Toy Tacoma I had. I went around a blind corner and could not get out of the way of an oncoming Subaru (must be a Subaru thing ) and we collided (icy-packed single lane road was to blame), ANYWAY the front of the truck was in need of a new bumper. I asked to see what the stock Toy bumper cost was compared to replacing it with a ARB. The stock replacement was MORE by $40, so I actually saved the insurance company and got a way more functional bumper (the deer slayer)

I wouldn't worry about it, if your body shop is good and reputable they should be able to fix it just as good as new. Here is a pic of mine from a year ago. My body shop did a hell of a job and my buddies told me the same thing about it never being right again. Mine took 3 months to fix and I had to drive a dakota during that period, to me that was the only downfall.
