The only PSD that was ever worth a flip was the 7.3.....The 6.0 is a POS and the 6.4 is just being released so only time will tell as to what it will be like.

Did I mention that the 6.0 is a POS? I'm speaking from experience on that one.

I'd love to have a Ford Lariat with a CTD under the hood.

Don't argue with him over it. He is your friend. You can't give people advice that don't want it. Just let him drive it and if the repair bills start stacking up
make him ask for advice. He will be ready to hear what you have to say then. Be nice thou........

Die hard brand owners are hard to convince. I owned a 99 7.3. I liked the truck, engine, everything about it. But for me I wanted high performance without having to rob a bank. That is why I ended up buying my Cummins. In the world of high performance you can't convince me that a 7.3 will soon be the king of the diesel world, "because it has 1.4 liters more and they just don't have the fuel needed YET" according to some fella named Lott. Sure, there are some quick ones out there, but very, very, very few and far between. We see so many former Ford owners replace engines with Cummins, or buy a Ram/Cummins, or go to a Duramax. The die hard ford guys always counter "we sell x amount more than everyone else combined" but I think we can all agree more doesn't mean better. I can say that the Ford trucks are pretty dog gone nice, built really well. If I could afford it I would swap my engine into an 05-07 F250 any day. I still like my Ram, but I love my Cummins. I would just let your truck do the talking. If you win, great. If he wins, fine. He might get cocky about it, but if he does just show him some facts when it comes to all out high hp/performance.........

I am not sure where I saw the picture that showed the diffferences between the Duramax,Powerstroke and Cummins, but it showed the pistons and connecting Rods for all 3 engines side by side and the Cummins was obviously the engine that I would choose and have. Just the obvious size of the Rods and pistons indicated pure power and durability. I think the amount of hoses on a Ford could make another set of tires. Not my choice for a vehicle of any type

That picture is all over the place. It's the first one that comes up on google images when you type in "Cummins rods"

I've owned both brands, and I will say the Dodge is closer to my perfect truck than the Ford was. And until someone builds a Unimog in a slightly (but only slightly) smaller version, I think I'll drive this Dodge until the wheels fall off.

Or until someone wants to hand me the keys of a 1 ton 4x4 Megacab with all the goodies...

Trying to convince diehards is going to be impossible. I have had a couple of Ford 7.3s and loved them. I worked those trucks and they came back for more. And I think their interiors were way better, sheet metal was tougher, and engine ran strong. The 5.9 is another great engine and is the reason i bought Dodge. I was not happy when Ford swapped to the 6.0 or 6.4...

Actually, I don't believe the powerstroke is even offerd on the F-650 and F750, are they? I think the Cummins is the standard engine.
Look here. The Powerstroke is offered for 2007. For 2008 no.

Now you can say the powerstroke used to be offered as the base engine on the F-650 and F-750. But it was so weak its not even offered anymore!
