Re:Mudflaps and Wheel liners
If you think deleting the wheel liners was a cost saver, grab hold of your rear bumper. It's practically tin. Hit anything and it is bent or dented.

Go figure!!

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
Re:Mudflaps and Wheel liners
Agreed about the 'tinny' bumper. I have a couple of small dents already and am surprised how easy it is to do this. Even have a small dent on the compound curve at the end of the bumper. The compound curve in theory makes it stronger but not on this cheap junk. My old Delta 88 with the chrome bumpers was a LOT stronger than these bumpers.

Mmm, tell me about it. It was about this time last year that I backed into a 10" diameter oak adjacent to my driveway doing < 3 mph. The bumper folded quicker than a two dollar....ah....lawn chair. : $1400 later not including a Reunel bumper and she was looking good again. The tree.....firewood!

Sorry, but I had to smile at your 'misfortune'. I know, I know, the tree just jumped out into your path. Right? Reminds me many years years ago when my pastor was driving one of those old VW Kombi vans. He backed into a tree about 15 inches in diameter. Hit the bumper dead center and folded it neatly. His excuse was that he though it was the shadow of the tree behind him and not the real thing.

Re:Mudflaps and Wheel liners
The dealer threw in both the wheel liners, deluxe mud flaps and slush mats front and rear for free. Had them on my '98 1500 QC and wouldn't do without them. Liners keep gravel from beating up inside your rear panels and mud flaps do the same for outside.

Re:Mudflaps and Wheel liners
If it makes anybody feel better, I was just driving by one of the Chevy dealers and noticed their new trucks on the lot no longer have the wheel liners either
Cost cutting seems to be contagious > :
They do have the under-hood insulation, but who knows they might copy DC and get rid of that next year.

Re:Mudflaps and Wheel liners
Anyone happen to have the Part#s handy for the wheelwell liners? The molded splash guards are on the Mopar site, but didn't see the liners. Thanks.

Thats MR Hoss to you buddy!
Re:Mudflaps and Wheel liners
I just wish they would at least pass some of these cost cutting measures on to the consumer. I see them cutting costs...but the prices still keep going up and up. :

I'm a little confused. I had a 2001 GMC and it didn't have rear wheel well liners.
My new 2004 Dodge has a plastic liner of sorts in the back that covers the rear wheel well opening. Did they start putting them back on in 04?
And are we talking front and rear liners or just rear here?

When I did mine, I kept the little screw ancor clips off the little plastic deflector that comes stock behind the rear wheel.
The bottom screws securing the front mudflaps that the dealer installed wanted to back out/pull through the sheet metal, so I drilled out the holes through the sheet metal, and put screw ancors on the plastic front wheel liner. Much more secure.
There is a photo of what the liner looks like in my gallery. (Has hole cut in it to access release for B&W turnover ball).
